GUERSON_N:  HELLO, for the common people, would you be kind enough to introduce yourself and your party the MRD to our readers? 

REV_Christine: Peace Greetings! I am Reverend Christine Coleman, a mother, a wife and lead pastor for The Blazing Holy Fire Ministries. I am also the current president for the Movement for the Republic and Democracy (MRD), a movement that is tirelessly working to restore the Republic and Democracy in Rwanda, giving Rwandans Life, Freedom and the Dignity which they deserve. 

Guerson_N: On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Mr Olivier NDUHUNGIREHE, on his account X, announced the repatriation of Rwandan refugees (all HUTUS) living in Goma. Several comments alert that this communication operation was made in defiance of international conventions on the return of refugees which must be voluntary and not mandatory. What is your reaction? 

REV_Christine: By what Nduhungirehe posted and what his government did afterwards, it confirms to the whole world that Rwanda is an Apartheid state where Tutsis and Hutus are not treated equally. How can you invade Goma and after occupying it, you force Hutus refugees to be taken to Rwanda while the Tutsis are given the freedom to stay in DRC. The enforced repatriation of Hutus refugees accomplished by M23 anRwanda government is immoral and it is very criminal. It disregards article 33 of the 1951 Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and it violate the fundamental principle of non-refoulement. I am not surprise about this illegal enforced repatriation of Hutu refugees, isn’t that what Kagame loves to do? His troops are in DRC illegally; they have violated DRC territorial integrity and are doing what is illegal in DRC. It is not the first time that Kagame army engages in such criminal activities and I am not surprised. In 1996, Kagame’s Army struck at many refugee camps in Eastern DRC, thousands of refugees were killed while the rest were forced to cross the border and return to Rwanda where many more were killed, imprisoned and the lucky ones found a way to exile to other nations. I once was a refugee in DRC who was forced to go back by Kagame. Rwanda is among a few countries in the world where there is no war yet citizens are always fleeing. Every opportunity they get, they flee. The borders are tightly controlled. If they were to open them freely, I am afraid that 85% of the population will flee! People flee because they are persecuted, oppressed and their lives are in danger. Bringing them back to where they can be killed or harmed is a crime. The recent refoulement of Hutu refugees is a crime that was committed in a broad day light as the International Community watched helplessly in silence. It is very sad but I trust that there will be justice one day for each refugee that was harmed or forced to return to a county whose human rights abuses is the worst in the whole world. What irony to invade DRC saying that you are coming to give freedom to Kinyarwanda speaking Congolese yet you force the Hutus to return back against their will. What an irony to invade a country pretending you are giving freedom to some group of people while at the same time you are taking the freewill and freedom of others. Refoulement by Rwanda is very wrong and is very sad. Those who committed it should be held responsible not this time alone but even in the times past. 

Guerson_N:  Knowing that KIGALI had invoked the clause of cessation of refugee status for Rwandan citizens who fled the barbarity of the A.P.R. in 1994. Why is KIGALI now brutally treating all the Hutus living in Goma as refugees? 

REV_Christine: Let’s sign that KIGALI announces to want deported more than 2000 Hutus living in Goma to RUBAVU during the next days. Who held Hutu refugees hostage in a stadium in Goma in May 2025? Who deported them to Rwanda? Well, it is Willy Ngoma, a rebel who was sanctioned by both USA and European Union. Ngoma was sanctioned for mass killings, mass rapes, kidnappings and other human right abuses. A criminal such as Ngoma can do nothing good to Hutus – He is double minded, treating Tutsi Refugees and Hutu refugees differently. Through Kagame lobbying, Hutus refugees had their status revoked by UNHCR. For many years, Hutu refugees were left alone but some of them were given citizenship by the DRC government as many of them were born there. When they were forced back to Rwanda, Willy Ngoma who is the sanctioned rebel leader held all Hutus hostage and he forced them to destroy their ID’s. The Kagame regime is a regime of segregation and division; Hutus are marginalized. Whether it is Congolese Hutus or Rwandan Hutus, they put them in one basket and oppress them. They believe in thus crushing Hutus, they will get them to become minority in Rwanda not majority. Thus treating Hutu refugees thus show that the war against DRC is not a war of liberation but a war to loot, steal, kill and destroy. 

Guerson_N:  Repatriation being voluntary, what are the prerequisites that your political party the MRD asks the Rwandan government to put in place in order to be able to convince refugees to opt for voluntary return to the fold? 

REV_Christine: Throughout his 30 years reign, Kagame and his RPF have done nothing good for Rwandans nor for Hutus, therefore MRD does not trust them to do anything good for Rwandans. They had 30 years to do it and they did nothing. 

 DOMESTIC POLICY

Guerson_N: The current regime of Rwanda tends to obscure the existence of refugees in DRC, all taxons, without exclusion of the largest to the newborn, being only genocidaires on the run. What is the danger that awaits these Hutus who have been forcibly repatriated to RWANDA since 17 May? 

REV_Christine: The Kagame regime considers most Hutus as genocidaire; the speech of Minister Kabarebe and other RPF senior leaders proves that. Therefore, Hutus who are forced back to Rwanda will be subject of persecution, imprisonment and killings. Rwanda Government is an apartheid government that seeks to crush Hutus and destroy their lives. We watch often times Rwanda government destroying Hutu houses; there are many videos out there on YouTube you can find to confirm this. Destroying Hutus homes has been always the way of RPF. When a Hutus starts a business and it flourishes, the government takes it away from them. When a Hutus becomes successful the regime goes after them. When they try to flee, this government shoot at them. The only choice Hutus are given in Rwanda is to serve Tutsis,to be a Hutus of service or die. Hutus are not allowed to flee the country. Danger, grave danger await the Hutus who were forcibly repatriated. 

Guerson_N: The Rwandan state has expressed its willingness to receive American prisoners and other undesirable migrants in the USA to come live as a free man in Rwanda. Do you share the concerns with those who think that KAGAME is preparing the future militia to destabilize the Great Lakes region with these violent ex-prisoners from America?

REV_Christine:  Absolutely. Kagame has used Burundi refugees and other refugees to fight in M23 and even Red Tabara in Burundi. Kagame wants all the terrorists on Rwanda soil to use them for his military power… who knows, maybe one of them will overthrow him! I believe it is for multiple purposes as well, for Kagame, it is also a business because he knows he can get paid by keeping them. Also Kagame is a big believer in the theory of replacement, he wants to fill Rwanda with foreigners so that nobody bothers him with what he has done in the past in the history of Rwanda – that no one hold him responsible for the huge crimes he committed against Rwandans. 

Guerson_N: To repair the injustice of memory, several voices are calling for an inter-Rwandan dialogue. What do you think? 

REV_Christine: Normally, Inter-Rwandan dialog would be a great way to solve Rwandan issues but I am afraid this will not work – Kagame does not believe in freedom of speech and throughout the years, he has not respected any peace agreements but has always violated them in deeds. I do not think dialog is going to solve the Rwanda problem. If you want the problem solved, you have to go to the root. What has happened that we got this far, that we have become expert in stripping citizens of their rights to speech, movement and assembly? To solve the problem, Kagame should stop holding Rwandans hostage, resign, allow true democracy to take place with free and fair election. Citizens should elect new leadership, who in turn will decide how Rwandan problems should be resolved!

Guerson_N: Rwanda, is the main source of the chaos that has reigned in eastern DRC and throughout the Great Lakes sub-region for 31 years! What message can you send to the authorities in Kigali and to the Rwandan people themselves?

REV_Christine: I agree with you that Rwanda is the source of destabilization in the region. Proof is that before Kagame’s arrival in the region, i.e before 1990, there were no wars in the Great Lakes Region. Since Kagame came in the region, all we have seen is destabilizing neighboring countries while maintaining peace in Rwanda. He wants Rwanda to be the only country that stands out in the region. Kagame wants VISIT RWANDA and DO NOT VISIT UGANDA, DO NOT VISIT BURUNDI, DO NOT VISIT DRC… The message I have to Rwanda authorities is this: It has been 30 years since you are in power but to this day, Rwandans and Congolese are still being killed, people are still being kidnapped, disappeared and oppressed, Christians and the people of faith are being persecuted. In terms of peace and economy, Rwanda is in the worst shape than it was in before this regime. True you have Kigali the clean city but underneath are torture chambers, safe houses, dungeon where humans are slaughtered; there is no unity nor reconciliation in the country. The region that used to know peace now knows nothing but wars. Get out of the way, let Truth, Justice take place in Rwanda. Let freedom and democracy reign!
